OpenAI agrees to stop using alleged Apple trade secrets during lawsuit

OpenAI agrees to stop using alleged Apple trade secrets during lawsuit Image: Primary
OpenAI agreed at a Wednesday hearing not to use trade secrets Apple claims were stolen while the companies' lawsuit proceeds, Bloomberg reported. Judge Edward Davila indicated he was highly likely to grant Apple's preliminary injunction request before OpenAI made the voluntary commitment. OpenAI also agreed to collect forensic images of devices from 14 employees whose devices may contain Apple's confidential information. Davila can enforce the agreement through court-imposed sanctions. He pushed back on Apple's request to inspect every potentially relevant device and repository, prompting Apple to narrow its proposed inspections to a small group of former employees.
