Tesla recalls millions of China-made cars over releases and driver monitoring
Image: Primary Tesla recalled 2,975,910 vehicles in China after the regulator found their emergency mechanical door-release latches could be difficult to identify and operate. The company plans warning labels and an over-the-air update that lowers windows automatically after a collision. Separately, Tesla recalled 2,740,642 China-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles because the regulator found its driver-monitoring system inadequate; the remedy will use a software update to add eye tracking. Other automakers also issued recalls for similar door-release issues.
