Blog analysis finds hidden WebAudio processing on AliExpress homepage
A blog investigation reported that the AliExpress homepage created two running WebAudio graphs through obfuscated Alibaba security scripts, despite showing no conventional media elements or audible output.
The author observed the graphs generating and analysing a waveform before connecting through a zero-gain node to the audio destination, alongside other browser and device measurements. On the author's setup, the activity appeared to keep a PC Bluetooth audio path active and interfere with multipoint headphone switching.
Blocking the two identified script families stopped the observed audio contexts.
