XPENG commissions humanoid robot production line in Guangzhou
Image: Primary XPENG has commissioned a dedicated humanoid robot production line in Guangzhou and says its IRON robot walked off the line without human assistance after assembly, Gadget Review reports. The company says more than 80% of core assembly processes are automated.
XPENG is applying quality control systems from its electric vehicle business and intends to put the robots to work in its own stores and campuses. It targets mass production by the end of 2026 and deliveries in 2027. The company has not disclosed the line's output rate or how much testing preceded the walk-off demonstration.
