AWS adds 13 validated data types to Parameter Store

AWS said Systems Manager Parameter Store now supports 13 new data types that validate configuration values when users create or update them. The service rejects values that do not match the selected type before applications read them, reducing the need for custom validation code. The types include AWS account IDs, IP addresses and JSON documents. Users can also filter stored parameters by type through the API or console. The feature is available in all regions supporting Systems Manager, but URL, JSON and JSONC types require advanced parameters and carry existing advanced parameter pricing.
