OpenAI pledged to cover the full cost of electricity it uses and exclude nondisclosure agreements with local government officials at future compute campuses it owns, Yahoo Finance reported. The commitments announced Thursday also call for a water plan and noise study for each site. The company said it would work with local governments on policies and accountability and make sustained investments in projects selected by residents. The commitments follow an election in which voters in dozens of jurisdictions restricted or ended new data center construction. Their stated scope covers future campuses owned by OpenAI.
