Kagi opens first 50 searches without an account

Kagi now lets anyone search the web at kagi.com without creating an account for the first 50 searches, the company announced. Registering provides 100 more searches. Kagi says the change addresses difficulty recommending its search engine when prospective users first had to create an account. Its redesigned Android home screen shows how many free searches remain for people trying the service without an account. Kagi describes the new discovery experience as degraded compared with a paid plan and has added a banner to alert subscribers when a browser unexpectedly logs them out.
