IonQ plans quantum computer installation at Nvidia research center

IonQ announced Wednesday that it plans to install its Superion 256 quantum computer at Nvidia's Accelerated Quantum Research Center next year. It would be the center's first quantum computer installed on site. The planned system will connect to Nvidia infrastructure through NVQLink, while Nvidia's CUDA-Q platform will coordinate workloads for joint software research and system prototypes. The placement gives IonQ hardware a role in Nvidia's research into computing that combines quantum and conventional systems. The installation is scheduled for next year; the system is not yet operating at the center.
