South Korean police identify 80 Tesla drivers over alleged FSD unlocks

Tesla Model X Image: Primary
South Korean authorities identified 80 Tesla drivers who allegedly activated Full Self-Driving on vehicles without clearance for the feature, Tom's Hardware reported, citing Electrek. Seoul police said they confiscated 21 devices used to bypass the restrictions. The modules reportedly connect to the vehicle's internal electronic network and bypass regional software locks. Prosecutors are using the Motor Vehicle Management Act, which prohibits unauthorized software changes that could affect vehicle safety and carries maximum penalties of two years in prison or a fine of 20 million won. Tesla offers supervised FSD locally on US-built Model S, Model X and Cybertruck vehicles under a trade agreement exemption. Shanghai-built Model 3 and Model Y vehicles have yet to pass local certification.
