Waymo, the autonomous vehicle unit of Alphabet Inc., announced Wednesday that it will expand its fully driverless robotaxi service to four new U.S. cities: Las Vegas, Nevada; Denver, Colorado; San Diego, California; and Tampa, Florida. The rollout will begin with rides for company employees before opening to the public in the coming months, the company said. The expansion builds on Waymo's position as the largest robotaxi operator in the country. The company already runs a fully autonomous, driverless service around the clock in more than 10 U.S. metro areas, including the San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix, the Los Angeles region, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Atlanta, and Austin, Texas.
