D-Link urges mitigations for unpatched DGS-3130 switch flaws

D-Link urges mitigations for unpatched DGS-3130 switch flaws Image: Primary
D-Link has issued mitigation guidance for unpatched flaws affecting multiple DGS-3130-30TS switch firmware versions. The company says an attacker with access to the affected network could obtain sensitive information, change credentials or configurations without authorization, or disrupt services. The flaws involve the D-Link Discovery Protocol and parts of the firmware's security architecture. Pending new firmware, D-Link advises disabling that protocol, removing unnecessary or default SNMP community strings, and restricting management access to isolated networks and designated administrators' computers. It is still investigating effects on other switching platforms and has not publicly disclosed CVE identifiers.
