Guardian signs Sierra deal covering about 1 million annual dental calls

Guardian signs Sierra deal covering about 1 million annual dental calls Image: Primary
Guardian Life signed a multi-year agreement to use Sierra's AI agents for about 1 million dental benefit verification calls a year, along with payments and claim status checks, the insurer said Thursday. The agreement assigns a defined volume of customer service work to the startup led by former Salesforce co-chief executive Bret Taylor. Guardian says the aim is faster answers and allowing staff to focus on cases requiring human judgment. It has not shared performance targets or financial terms. This is Guardian's third AI partnership in a year, following agreements with HCLTech and Avantos.
