ChatGPT Dot texts pass through Linq, adding third-party access to messages

ChatGPT Image: Primary
Messages between ChatGPT Dots and users pass through messaging provider Linq, which can see the texts, Tech Times reports, citing OpenAI's help documentation. The texting preview began rolling out on October 28 to adult US Pro subscribers through iMessage and RCS. Texting uses the dot's existing memory and connected apps. Actions affecting connected accounts require users to follow a link and approve them inside ChatGPT. OpenAI recommends caution with sensitive information sent by text; it has not publicly confirmed whether the Linq message path carries Apple's standard end-to-end encryption.
