OpenAI forecasts $70bn year-end revenue run rate in funding talks

OpenAI forecasts $70bn year-end revenue run rate in funding talks Image: Primary
OpenAI told prospective investors it expects annualised revenue to reach or exceed $70bn by year-end, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with its funding talks. Enterprise growth accounts for most of the projected increase. The company is seeking $30bn or more at a $1.4tn valuation before the new investment. The forecast differs from its reported September performance: OpenAI shared a run rate approaching $50bn in an investor presentation, a person familiar with it told CNBC. Earlier reports placing the September figure near $70bn were attributed to an investor estimate. Comparisons with Anthropic also require care: Bloomberg reported that Anthropic counts certain cloud-partner sales gross, while OpenAI counts only its share.
