Pixel owners report lockouts after September update

Pixel owners report lockouts after September update Image: Primary
Some Google Pixel owners report being locked out of their phones after installing the September 2026 operating system update, Mashable reported. Complaints span the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9a and Pixel 8 Pro. Users describe unlock patterns resetting after the second dot or PIN entries being rejected after the first digit. Some users say waiting through an emergency countdown restored access, while others resorted to factory resets. Those resets erased photos and files that had no backup. Google was reportedly contacting affected users on Reddit, but had not publicly addressed the issue or released a fix.
