Anthropic says Claude output will carry watermarks worldwide
Image: Primary Anthropic says it is rolling out watermarking for Claude output across its ecosystem, including its API and products built on it.
The company says models launched on or after August 2 support marking at launch, while older models will be added during a transition period. Text uses a statistical watermark based on word selection, while supported PNG, JPG and SVG files receive signed C2PA metadata. Anthropic says it is applying the system worldwide because it cannot yet limit it by region.
