AWS adds premium domain support to Route 53

Amazon says Route 53 Domains now lets customers register, transfer, renew and restore premium domain names. Registries reserve these names because they are short, memorable or in high demand. Previously, Route 53 customers had to use other registrars to acquire and manage them. Premium names now appear in Route 53 search and availability results with prices shown before purchase. Customers can also transfer existing premium domains from other registrars and manage them alongside standard domains through the same service. The change covers registry premium names.
