Anthropic says Claude designed quantum circuits using fewer gates and qubits

Anthropic logo Image: Primary
Anthropic says Claude Mythos 5 devised quantum circuits that used fewer qubits and gates than the best previously published designs across eight computational routines. The tasks covered chemistry, optimization, quantum simulation, number theory and numerical computing. The model wrote circuit designs as code, received correctness checks and resource scores from an automated evaluator, and revised its proposals without human input between rounds. Anthropic says one design made the costliest step of a leading quantum optimization algorithm about 12x cheaper. The results concern circuit designs and estimated resource requirements, rather than demonstrated execution of useful applications on quantum hardware.
