Figma Acquires Team Behind Vibe-Coding App Bud
Image: Primary Figma has acquired the team behind a vibe-coding app called Bud. TechCrunch reported on July 7 2026 that the company acquired the team behind the vibe-coding and AI agent platform Bud formerly Orchids.
Under the deal the startup will shut down both Bud and Orchids by July 18 requiring users to migrate their projects by then. Bud is an agent platform that can access various services browse the web and write code to automate tasks. Figma is seeking to add more AI capabilities and bring the coding and prototyping layer closer to its canvas.
