Microchip Technology announced Friday that it has acquired VORAGO Technologies, a privately held supplier of radiation-hardened and radiation-tolerant microcontrollers and microprocessors, RTTNews reported. The acquisition adds VORAGO's chip products and patented HARDSIL process technology to Microchip's existing aerospace and defense offerings. Microchip expects the transaction to strengthen its technical capabilities and help it capture a larger share of the aerospace, defense and space markets. Financial terms were not disclosed.
