Ford announces lower-cost home power chargers for Fathom pickup

Ford announces lower-cost home power chargers for Fathom pickup Image: Primary
Ford announced two chargers for its forthcoming Fathom pickup that will let owners supply electricity to their homes or the grid. Ford says the Home Power Station will cost around $650, about 50% less than its first-generation bidirectional charger. A Home Backup Power package adds a panel for supplying household circuits during outages. Ford puts its price at around $2,100, about 60% below its first-generation product. The truck will deliver over 10 kW to a home, the company said. Both chargers will support participation in virtual power plants, which coordinate distributed batteries to supply the grid. Prices exclude installation, which can cost up to $10,000 for existing vehicle-to-everything chargers.
