PLD Space has been awarded €158.9 million by the European Space Agency under the European Launcher Challenge. The award covers support for its commercial MIURA 5 orbital-launch service and flight-cadence ramp-up through 2030, plus development of upgraded MIURA 5 capacity, including propulsive-landing capability. PLD says the upgrades are intended to transfer to its planned MIURA Next heavy-launcher family. The award follows other 2026 financings and launch-site investment described by EU-Startups.
