Ultragenyx plans to cut headcount by about 20%, to roughly 1,000 employees, and terminate development of UX701, its gene therapy for Wilson disease, The Pharma Letter reported. The rare disease drugmaker is shifting toward commercial execution and a smaller research footprint after two gene therapy approvals. It is also completing the wind-down of all ongoing GTX-102 studies for Angelman syndrome and reducing costs, including real estate.
