RAMP preprint demonstrates user-side processing of quantum key material

Researchers report in a preprint that their RAMP framework lets commodity endpoints turn service-provided quantum key material into final keys without operating quantum key distribution hardware. Using experimentally acquired data, they measured average key-distillation throughput of 2.1Kb/s on an M4 Pro CPU. Providers generate and supply raw key material; users mask and process it locally. The framework separates the service infrastructure from the user's masking system to reduce dependence on provider trust. Its confidentiality guarantees remain conditional: exposure of providers' raw-key information requires the masking system to stay secure, while exposure of masking information requires the quantum source and acquisition paths to remain protected.
