FCC approves deployment of 15,000 Starlink Mobile satellites

FCC approves deployment of 15,000 Starlink Mobile satellites Image: Primary
The FCC has approved deployment of 15,000 Starlink Mobile satellites optimized for global 2 GHz spectrum, 9to5Mac reports. SpaceX says the V2 satellites deliver more than 100 times the bandwidth of the current generation. SpaceX also announced a nationwide portfolio of low-band spectrum licenses intended to improve coverage through obstacles, including walls, for devices inside buildings. Most existing mobile devices support that band, the company says. Final FCC approval for the low-band spectrum plans is still pending; SpaceX anticipates combining its satellite constellation with terrestrial deployment.
