AWS adds R8gd instances with local SSD storage to European Sovereign Cloud

AWS announced that its Graviton4-powered EC2 R8gd instances are available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud region in Germany. The instances provide up to 11.4 TB of local SSD storage for applications requiring fast access to data. AWS claims up to 30% better performance than Graviton3-based instances. The family offers 12 sizes, up to 50 Gbps of network bandwidth and up to 40 Gbps of bandwidth to Amazon Elastic Block Store. Customers can adjust network and storage-service bandwidth allocations by 25%. Elastic Fabric Adapter networking is available on the 24xlarge, 48xlarge, metal-24xl and metal-48xl sizes.
