SatPort Infrastructure has completed its acquisition of Speedcast's teleport business, transferring 12 satellite ground facilities across 11 countries and five continents, Via Satellite reported. More than 100 employees are joining SatPort, which is backed by EQT Infrastructure. Speedcast signed a long-term infrastructure services agreement to become a SatPort customer. Speedcast said the sale shifts it toward a more asset-light model and focuses its resources on its SIGMA intelligent edge network management platform. Financial terms were not disclosed in the November 3 announcement.
