Salesforce releases AI spending limits and agent shutdown controls

Salesforce released spending controls and an agent shutdown switch for Agent Fabric, its system for overseeing AI agents across platforms. The company says its Model Wallet stops requests before spending exceeds a budget, while new policies reduce token use through caching, compression and shorter responses. Agent Evals and API Evals will enter beta in November 2026, with general availability scheduled for January 2027. They are designed to test agent quality and detect changes in underlying APIs. Automatically triggering the shutdown switch also awaits January 2027; interventions will require approval where customers' policies demand it.
