Error reports for Cloudflare and Zscaler were returning to normal levels Friday after spikes earlier in the day, while Amazon Web Services said it experienced no outage, according to Downdetector and AWS. Downdetector, a website that tracks service outages, noted spikes in user reports for Cloudflare, Zscaler and AWS services on Friday morning. By noon, the reports were near-normal for AWS and Cloudflare with Zscaler still facing fewer issues than at the peak but still more report traffic than usual. At the same time, Meta sites, including Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp experienced more significant and widespread outages that were still being resolved Friday afternoon. While the cloud computing sites had significantly fewer reports than the Meta brands outage, all three still received spikes in user-reported errors at downdetector.com compared to their base level. The increases pushed all three near the top of the downdetector homepage, which highlights companies seeing real-time increases in crowdsourced reports. Google search data also showed there was increased interest nationally for terms including and related to "aws outage," "zscaler down" and downdetector. According to Ryan Walsh, a corporate communications worker for AWS, none of their services were disrupted on Friday. Users can check the status of the site on the AWS health dashboard online at https://health.aws.amazon.com/health/status.
