NIKKE patches PC launcher after scripts delivered malware

NIKKE patches PC launcher after scripts delivered malware Image: Primary
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE's developers issued a PC client update after identifying possible third-party tampering with launcher scripts. The update arrived November 4 at approximately 02:30 UTC+9, and the publisher is investigating the impact. BleepingComputer confirmed that two modified scripts contained a loader that retrieved and executed additional code. Researcher MotherSphere said the payload installed a backdoor capable of remote commands, file access and credential theft. An optional DLL contained cryptocurrency-wallet theft functions, but its deployment and any resulting cryptocurrency theft remain unknown. The researcher also reported that one compromised script remained available after the client update.
