Apple adds selfie age checks for some account actions in iOS 27.2

Apple adds selfie age checks for some account actions in iOS 27.2 Image: Primary
Apple has added a selfie option in iOS 27.2 for users asked to confirm adulthood before taking certain Apple Account actions. It joins existing verification methods using a credit card or scanned identification. Users capture four angles of their face, which an age-estimation model evaluates. Apple says processing runs on the device and Private Cloud Compute, and that the selfie is inaccessible to anyone, including Apple, and deleted immediately after age confirmation. The selfie option is available only in some regions.
