NVIDIA commits $1 billion over five years to US scientific computing

NVIDIA Voyager Image: Primary
NVIDIA announced commitments valued at $1 billion over the next five years to expand U.S. research capacity in scientific AI and quantum computing. The company made the announcement at a Washington event bringing together U.S. officials, industry leaders and scientists. The commitments include support for higher-education research institutions, investments in quantum computing and support for cloud providers serving U.S. government missions. NVIDIA invited researchers to collaborate using its computing and AI infrastructure resources. The company also said it is collaborating on phase 2 Genesis Mission awards announced at the event, covering quantum computing, fusion, accelerator design and microelectronics. The $1 billion commitment spans five years rather than an immediate deployment of that value.
