Vercel says Agent context changes cut average session costs by 67%

Vercel says Agent context changes cut average session costs by 67% Image: Primary
Vercel says its Agent sessions in the dashboard and Slack now cost 67% less on average after changes that reduce token use and improve reuse of cached prompts. The changes are live and require no action from users. Agent now manages context incrementally as conversations grow, including long Slack threads, and preserves more reusable context between turns. Updated guidance also helps it plan changes and write code with fewer tokens. Billing rates remain unchanged: paid sessions cost the model provider's inference rates plus a Vercel Agent fee of $0.25 per million tokens.
