mSecure warns customers of suspicious activity and suggests credential resets

mSecure warns customers of suspicious activity and suggests credential resets Image: Primary
mSecure developer mSeven Software warned current and former customers of suspicious activity linked to the password manager in a November 3 email, The Hacker News reported. The message suggested changing passwords, resetting two-factor authentication and removing passkeys, without confirming whether stored data had been exposed. The email said mSeven had begun an investigation, taken containment steps and engaged outside cybersecurity experts. It did not identify the affected systems or say whether the activity had stopped. mSecure 7 can store passkeys and authentication codes alongside passwords on its Essentials plan and above. The warning did not clarify whether its authentication advice concerned those stored credentials, the mSecure account's own sign-in, or both.
