Cloudflare down as parts of the internet grind to a halt
Image: Primary Cloudflare said it is investigating an internal service degradation that caused large parts of the internet to struggle to load on Monday. The company posted on its Cloudflare System Status page that some services may be intermittently impacted and that it is focused on restoring service. Cloudflare said it saw a spike in unusual traffic to one of its services beginning at 11:20 UTC. That caused some traffic passing through Cloudflare's network to experience errors. The company said it does not yet know the cause of the spike. Visitors to websites like X and Letterboxd saw error messages indicating Cloudflare issues were the cause according to The Independent.
