Quantinuum demonstrates 98-qubit Helios trapped-ion processor
Image: Primary Quantinuum demonstrated Helios, a 98-qubit trapped-ion processor that uses a four-way junction to move ions between a ring-shaped memory region and two processing paths. Its Helios runtime schedules ion transport and laser operations to avoid routing conflicts and enable more parallel work. The system performed random benchmark calculations that known classical methods could not reproduce within practical time and power limits. Helios' longest reported computation used about 4,000 operations on 98 qubits.
