Apple plans further cuts to employees' daily AI budgets

Apple plans further cuts to employees' daily AI budgets Image: Primary
Apple is planning to reduce some engineering teams' daily AI allowances to as little as $100, Bloomberg reported, as described by 9to5Mac. The plans follow cuts last month that lowered some engineers' caps from $300 to $200. Many groups outside engineering already have a $100 daily cap, which Apple has considered lowering to as little as $25 for some teams. Employees needing higher allowances can seek senior leadership exemptions. Some teams are being encouraged to use cheaper models or models running locally on their devices. The savings remain unclear because some employees were not using their full allowances.
