China orders recall of more than 4 million vehicles over emergency releases
Image: Primary China's market regulator has ordered recalls covering more than 4 million vehicles because interior emergency door releases can blend into surrounding trim. The action includes nearly 2.98 million Tesla vehicles and models from domestic manufacturers including Xiaomi, Leapmotor, Xpeng and Zeekr. Remedies include warning labels and, for several manufacturers, software changes to door-unlocking logic and window behavior after an impact. The source says the releases function but may be difficult to locate when low-voltage systems fail.
