US suspends eight technology firms from labor certification program Image: Primary
The Trump administration is suspending Microsoft, Adobe, Capgemini, Cognizant, HCL, Infosys, Tata and Wipro from a program that helps skilled foreign workers obtain U.S. permanent residency, accusing the companies of fraud. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling said the government would accept neither new nor pending permanent labor certification applications involving the firms. The action was announced Thursday. The administration also said it would investigate nine universities over alleged abuse of a program for international students. Microsoft and Adobe did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
