Samplix has announced a €25 million first financing close, comprising €3 million in new capital and €22 million in shareholder convertible bonds, EU-Startups reported. The round remains open toward a €30 million target. WLanholding GmbH led the financing, with participation from all major shareholders. Samplix intends to strengthen its balance sheet and expand commercial adoption of Xdrop, particularly for antibody discovery. Xdrop encloses living cells and assay reagents in tiny droplets so researchers can observe cell behaviour. WLan founder Werner Lanthaler will join Samplix's board within the next year.
