Wikimedia Foundation's U.S. workers win union election

U.S.-based Wikimedia Foundation workers won their union election and will join Communications Workers of America Local 9415, according to Wiki Workers United. The group said workers sought recognition in July after a supermajority signed authorization cards, then proceeded to an election overseen by the National Labor Relations Board after management declined recognition. The result creates the group's first government-sanctioned bargaining unit as it pursues recognition efforts in other jurisdictions.
