Binance says investigation found additional breach points in $6.3bn attack

Binance says investigation found additional breach points in $6.3bn attack Image: Primary
Binance says its investigation into the attack affecting about $6.3bn of assets has uncovered additional breach points beyond a potentially compromised engineer's laptop. The exchange said the incident involved multiple factors and that it has found no evidence of a wallet private key leak. Binance said it has frozen about $3bn and will cover losses using its Secure Asset Fund for Users emergency reserve and company funds. Deposits were operating normally by Friday; withdrawals remained suspended, with resumption targeted within 45 hours of its latest update after a security revamp of the withdrawal service. Binance has yet to publish a root-cause report.
