GMO investigates suspected publication of customer data after cloud breach Image: Primary
GMO Internet said October 27 that a suspected attacker had posted information appearing to relate to the company and its customers, TechCrunch reports. The company is checking whether the information is genuine following unauthorized access to its Onamae cloud desktop service for financial traders. GMO has advised customers to reset passwords after reports of unauthorized operations on trading accounts. It says 27,000 servers may be affected. The service was shut down October 21; the newly reported publication adds a possible data exposure to the continuing investigation.
