NTP operator reports scanner spillover tied to Tesla hostname

Dreamstation.systems said it received more than 50,000 automated probes since Aug. 21 from AWS-hosted scanners carrying Assetnote identifiers and targeting the Tesla hostname pool-ntp.tesla.com. The operator attributed the spillover to Tesla's CNAME to the volunteer NTP Pool, which can resolve to outside servers. The post says an Assetnote representative contacted the operator and the issue was resolved. The account is based on one operator's logs; it says none of the probes succeeded and does not independently establish Tesla's or Assetnote's responsibility.
