Fit Energy begins engineering and permitting for Pennsylvania data center project

Fit Energy begins engineering and permitting for Pennsylvania data center project Image: Primary
Fit Energy said October 6 that engineering and remaining permitting work are underway for its planned fuel cell power generation and data center project in Newport Township, Pennsylvania. Township zoning approval for both uses came in August. The project would use natural gas fuel cells supplied by FuelCell Energy under a strategic agreement. The cells generate electricity through an electrochemical process rather than combustion, providing on-site power to reduce reliance on the regional grid. The development is planned for previously mined and quarried land; construction awaits the remaining permitting work.
