Spotify adds QR checks for Family plan household verification

Spotify adds QR checks for Family plan household verification Image: Primary
Spotify is rolling out QR code verification for Family plan members to confirm they live with the plan manager, 9to5Google reported. The manager displays a code on their phone, and the member scans it while both are in the same place. Members have seven days after notification to complete verification. Those who miss the window lose paid Family access and cannot join a different Family or Duo plan for 12 months, although they can buy an Individual plan. The same restriction already applies to address checks; users reported bypassing the QR process through video calls and multiple devices.
