Axiom releases Lean library it says formalizes the entire Stacks Project

The Stacks Project library as a city: the chapter treemap as ground, each Lean declaration a column as tall as its dependency level, theorems in gold and propositions in red. Image: Primary
Axiom released an open-source Lean library that it says formalizes the entire Stacks Project, a roughly 7,500-page reference for modern algebraic geometry. The company says the library spans some 16 million lines of code and lets researchers and AI agents import definitions and theorems into machine-checked proofs. Permanent Stacks tags connect the formal declarations to the original text, with an interface showing both side by side. Axiom says coordinated AI agents translated and integrated the mathematics. The formalization is an independent project maintained by Axiom, separate from the upstream Stacks Project.
