Cloudflare opens application protections to private origins beyond closed beta

Cloudflare opens application protections to private origins beyond closed beta Image: Primary
Cloudflare says its services for private origins are generally available, extending access beyond a closed beta. Customers can apply its web application firewall, caching, bot management and Workers to servers with private IP addresses without opening inbound firewall access. A proxied DNS record directs requests through an existing Cloudflare One connection, while Cloudflare handles application protections on its network. The service covers internal APIs, AI agent backends and other private applications accepting Internet requests. Customers need a Private Origins entitlement and Unified Routing enabled through their account team. Argo Smart Routing and Aegis remain unsupported, and origin health checks require Load Balancing.
