Australian court finds eHarmony misled users on membership pricing Image: Primary
Australia's Federal Court found that eHarmony misled consumers about the cost and terms of dating memberships in a case brought by the competition regulator. The court found memberships could renew automatically for another 12 months at up to five times the original price without prominent disclosure. It also found misleading representations about free dating, one-month options, cancellation and monthly pricing that omitted mandatory charges and total minimum cost. Penalties and consumer redress have not yet been set.
