Tesla says Cybercab production line is outpacing fleet deployment

Tesla says Cybercab production line is outpacing fleet deployment Image: Primary
Tesla's Cybercab factory line can build vehicles faster than the company can deploy them, vice president Lars Moravy said in an interview cited by The Next Web. He said Tesla does not run the line every day because it is outpacing deployments. Battery engineer Robert Sumpf said the pack reserves space for a future switch from nickel-based 4680 cells to cheaper lithium iron phosphate cells, which store less energy. Every Cybercab built so far enters Tesla's own fleet. US regulators opened an investigation in September into how Tesla certified the vehicle, which has no steering wheel or pedals.
